If someone with a motor or sensory disability fell in love with them, almost half of Italians (47.21%) would not dismiss the idea of a possible love affair. If the person has a cognitive impairment, the percentage drops to 12.60% and the prevailing sentiment would be kindness. However, in both cases, the percentage of people who would categorically dismiss the idea of an affair is very low (1.86% and 8.10% respectively). The results come from an online questionnaire sent by psychologist and psychotherapist Lelio Bizzarri to almost 1,000 people. In general, a rather open attitude emerges, which sees a sexual relationship, not only between people with disabilities, but also between those with and without, as something absolutely normal.
