Today’s sexual revolution is having childrenby Ivano Abbadessa - 2014.10.28
We need a revolution in sex education to fight Europe's demographic decline. Rather than focussing too much on methods of contraception to avoid pregnancy, it should teach young people about techniques for having children. This is the recommendation from a group of experts in Denmark's Sex & Samfund association. They say that the anxiety of avoiding an unwanted pregnancy has become a disease in society. The obvious sign of this is the increasing numbers of patients turning to fertility clinics because they find it difficult to have children when they are ready. As a consequence, 10% of Danish women complain of not having children or of having fewer than they would like. The Scandinavian team therefore recommends teaching young people to become parents before it's too late and learning about the effects of ageing on the ability to procreate. It also includes discussing the reality of how lifestyle, the environment and sexually transmitted diseases can affect one's ability to have a child.
