Swedes risking their health for sexual pleasure

by Ivano Abbadessa - 2015.06.30

Swedish women prefer not using a condom, according to researchers at the University of Uppsala. They found a significant increase in the number of women who prefer the pleasure of physical contact to the security of not contracting serious diseases. They interviewed a representative sample of university students and found that this risky habit comes with two further developments. The first is the increasingly lower age of first-time sexual intercourse: 16.7 years compared to 17.6 in 1989. The second is the increase in the average number of partners: 12 compared to four in 1989. The experts say that the fact that girls have more sexual partners in their lifetime is not a bad thing, in fact it could be evidence of gender equality. It's more a problem of quality than quantity. Their message is clear: “Do it with whom you want and however many times you want, but don't forget to use a condom.”
