How many unaccompanied foreign minors are there in Italy

The number of unaccompanied foreign minors in Italy last December 31 stood at 17,373. +25.3% over August and +45.7% of the figure registered at the end of the previous year. They are almost exclusively males (about 94%) in the age group 16-17 years. These are some of the figures reported in the Report to the Parliament by the Italian Guarantor for Childhood and Adolescence, recently presented at Montecitorio. In the document it is also recalled that in 2016 25,846 unaccompanied minors arrived in our country: about 50% more than 2015, when they were 12,360.
