Would you live like a homeless person, or persuade a friend to do it, for money? This is a way of supporting those who are forced to live on the streets and was devised by the Swedish hotel chain Faktum. The company aims to raise awareness about the growing numbers of homeless people by offering the experience of living like a tramp for the modest sum of €11 a night. Their main clients have been people who want a better understanding of life sleeping rough, as well as artists looking for inspiration. They have a choice of 10 locations, including a park, an abandoned factory, a bridge and a stadium. It is up to the client to then choose to sleep in the location or to simply visit it. Profits from the initiative go to charities that support the 3,400 people who are currently sleeping rough in the city of Gothenburg.
