Alarm on homelessness in the Italian stations

by Roberta Lunghini - 2016.07.19

The number of homeless people who turn to the Help Centers of the Italian stations is increasing. With more than 9,000 people who did it for the first time in 2015. Last year the social interventions were 520,572, for a total of 21,292 registered users who turned to the Help Centers 116,328 times: more than 5 times each. To be noted that they are not just foreigners but it is growing the number of Italian homeless people in severe economic hardship. Just think about the case of Chivasso, where the natives account for 68.8% of the total of those in need. These are some of the figures published in the new ONDS Report, which, as every year, took stock of the situation in its 16 care facilities spread throughout the national territory.
