Green light in France for the off limits Internet domains. Since last July 1st it is possible to submit an application to open a web page entitled www.genocidio.fr or such as www.xenofobia.fror, prohibited until now in the French Republic. An innovation that follow the ruling of the Constitutional Council that in last October, rejected a law (2004) that banned the use of about 300 thousand names for online title (including regular terms as webmaster or mail). This is not a real liberalization: the assignment of web sites “with sensitive denominations”, will be needed to demonstrate a “legitimate reason”. That will be defined in the coming days in a special decree for that purpose. In just over 4 days about 35500 cases to access to the taboo list were presented to AFNIC, the association that assign a name to each site.
