+40 %
The number of patients waiting more than 4 hours in casualty has jumped 40% in a year. According to NHS Information Centre, in 2011 5.6% of patients wait so long time, corresponding to nearly 900,000 compared with nearly 600,000 in the year before. This unsatisfying results seems to be linked both to the increasing financial strains and the controversial health reform. Nevertheless the Government failed his target of 98% of patients seen within 4 hours.
