The worries of gay teachers

It is a hard life for gay people who by profession teach. Even in wealthy Germany, in fact, 8% of teachers who have a same sex partner are repeatedly offended by their students and as many as 15% are marginalized by their colleagues. Moreover, 60% of German teenagers enjoy making jokes about homosexuals, which may sometimes become quite heavy. Especially if the gossip is about the private lives of those seen every day at school in the role of educators. But the teachers belonging to the LGBT community have to deal also, and especially, with the parents of the pupils. Who in many cases write letters of protest and even insult about the inadequacy of entrusting their little ones to a person who has a sexual orientation other than common. A disturbingly homophobic school situation, successfully illustrated by a recent documentary made by the students from a school in Cologne as an act of solidarity towards their effeminate teachers, who out of desperation decided to leave his job.
