In Rome, the use of skin whitening products is becoming a real fashion among young immigrants. They are creams, lotions, soaps and cosmetics that in the 50% of cases contain substances which are illegal in Europe and which, many times, cause serious damage to the skin. In particular, because of the misinformation and the superficiality with which the foreigners, driven by the desire to be more easily accepted, buy such goods. Just think that only 4% of them get a medical prescription. While the vast majority buys them in shops or local markets. Not to mention that the preferred place to read up about it is the Internet. This is what emerges from a recent survey of the National Institute of Health, which shows a reality that is as unknown as widespread, albeit based on a fairly small sample of respondents: about the eighth people with an average age of 35 years.
