In response to continued complaints from Brussels to human rights violations in prisons in Poland, Warsaw authorities have launched an ad hoc law that will remain paper. The new standard, in fact, in force since November 18, requires biennial inspections in prisons to verify the health status of prisoners. Too bad that the National Committee committed to this delicate task is so lacking in personal guarantee to allow, according to latest estimates, a visit every 20 years for each prison. Not to mention that the team of inspectors is not composed of medical personnel, but only by lawyers and criminologists who until now have never found even a small violation of the rights of inmates. This is shown by a detailed report of the Helsinki Foundation.
