Overcoming the trauma after the earthquake in the classrooms. This is the aim of the initiative promoted for the first time by the city of Lorca in Spain, hit by the earthquake last May. Specifically, the project, in collaboration with the Order of Psychologists of the Murcia region, involving almost 5 thousand students from 15 primary schools and is divided into two phases. The first is dedicated to listening to the young victims who tell the most critical moments of their experience. The second, however, consists of a set of games and sports activities that serve to mitigate the memory of those dramatic days. At the end of the course each student receives as gift the “backpack of the brave”, a kit comprising: a fairy tale, a notebook for drawing, pastels, clay and a series of figures representing a family, useful to reflect on the situation they have experienced , gradually returning to normality. To the parents, however, it is dedicated an handbook about how to deal with children who have suffered this kind of shock.
