Finally a sunbeam

The outcome of the first complete X-ray of the Spanish population with Down syndrome is good. The Iberian Peninsula passes the test with flying colors. First about education. Ten years ago half of these people over 16 years old could not read or write. Today, however, there are many who even have completed a vocational training program. So much so that 25% had a paid job. Positive notes are also recorded on private life. The vast majority are satisfied with their personal image and spends his spare time with friends or family. With which the link is so strong that it constantly afraid of losing them. A general state of well-being also had a positive effect on life expectancy of this special category of citizens that is approaching the age of 60. Real giant steps  justified by two main factors. First of all medical advances, especially in cardiology. Then, it should not underestimate the social context: certainly less hostile than in the past against those who suffer from this disease. This is shown in a study by the SANITAS Foundation and the FUNDADEPS.
