The current economic crisis has only served to accentuate a phenomenon in itself worrying. Data in hand, in fact, it seems that the girls of His Majesty do not think twice to enter the sex trade just to make ends meet. In short, thanks to rising cost of living and especially of university fees, the transition from the classroom to the local red light is likely to become a real routine for many of them. Just think, for example, that in 2010 alone the requests for assistance received by the prostitutes helpline from young freshmen have doubled. Alarming figures which led the Ministry of Education to announce new financial support in the form of scholarships to university students in financial difficulties.
