In Italy, the Assembly of the Senate passed a joint motion on violence against women. During the session, it was reiterated the need to sign the Istanbul Convention of the Council of Europe, which has not yet been implemented by our country. In severe lagging behind other EU Member States, especially in light of the fact that it is an important international treaty and the first one to recognize gender-based violence as a violation of human rights and as a form of discrimination.
