Not all children who do not want to go to school are lazybones. In Austria, in fact, it was discovered that among the cases of pupils’ absenteeism, apart from those due to sheer laziness, is hiding more and more often what, however, can be considered a true phobia. Mainly due to incidents of bullying, violence, or simply anxiety about getting bad grades. A trauma that often turns into psychosomatic health problems: first of all, frequent headaches and stomach pains. Thanks to which it is easy to persuade parents and family doctors of the need to stay home. In fact it is an illness that if left untreated, in the long term, rather than compromise the process of study, is likely to cause irreparable damage to the personality development of children. And that is why at the hospital in the town of Schwarzach a department ad hoc has been activated on an experimental basis, where a team of specialists provides psychological support to children who suffer from these disorders in order to reintegrate them into school year.
