Despite this winter is much milder than the previous ones in France there has been a sharp increase in deaths among the homeless. A real anomaly justified by the fact that in recent months 23,867 homeless have not received aid in an accommodation because it is not cold enough. Incredible but true. According to the alarm raised by the Fédération nationale d’accueil et de Reinsertion Social (Fnars) half of the requests were rejected. Under the anti-cold French plan, in fact, places to spend the night made available with decrease in temperature. The first part is made available when the night is between 0°C and -5°C. The second when the temperature is between -5°C -10°C. Finally, an exceptional level of crisis is triggered when the mercury drops below 10°C. The result? On one hand, many structures have remained empty with an obvious waste of resources. On the other hand, more and more homeless are risking their lives during these days.
