NHS spends over 64,000£ (about 77,000€) daily for translation services according to 2020health.org, a British think tank. An unacceptable amount of money especially in these days of austerity. Alternative solutions could be taken. First, creating a central library of information that has already been translated that can be use by trusts, second simply provide documents in “easy to read” English, and not in medical jargon. Furthermore in this ways it would be easier to avoid to strengthen linguistic cleavages in multicultural society as the British one is.
