“Gagged” doctors

The chiefs of UK Health System tackle against the “gagging clauses”. It concern a common practice widespread in NHS trusts who employed doctors. Actually there is an increasing number of professional that are forced to sign a “silence agreement” to be hire: never going public with their criticism about dodgy or substandard practice. We refer to confidential agreement so do not exist a real study of the phenomenon unveiled by some journalistic inquiries so we cannot know his range. Even so we are waiting for a better transparency, the General Medical Council published a strong document that remind that these clauses are totally unacceptable, prevents doctors from sign such contracts that breaking their professional obligations and put patients at risk.
