Many abuses, many therapies

To fight effectively against gender-based violence means to have a clear and deep knowledge of the phenomenon and of all its shades. For this reason, the Catalan Government prepared a vademecum, mainly addressed to the social health workers of the region, which outlines the problem and tries to improve the response of public services. From prevention measures to assistance to victims. Those measures will have to be adapted to each case, according to its seriousness, ranging from women who are not subject to physical violence but still fear for their safety or are experiencing abuses and insults; wives and girlfriends who are victims of assaults but are not in a great danger; women who risk their life and, finally, those who are victims of regular sexual abuse.
