In Italy, at least 15 million people suffer from chronic pain. These are mainly women: 53.7% against 46.3% of men. To be noted, however, that only half of them addresses to a doctor in order to relieve this suffering or decide to undergo proper treatment. Not to mention that very few patients know the law No.38/2010 on palliative care and pain therapy. These are some of the results of the project CU.P.I.DO. – Prevention and Care of the Pain.
