Circular letter
It’s about time too!

Italy’s important step towards in the recognition of the educational qualifications of the young immigrants. A recent circular letter from the Ministry of Education, in fact, states that foreign students enrolled in high school, have the right to take the final exam, even if they do not have obtained a middle school diploma in our country. This measure was made necessary by the widespread practice in the territory to ask these students to take a further exam before admitting them to the high school final evaluation. A practice which was considered unnecessary by the Ministry. Since, according to the national legislation, the teachers may allow the enrollment of immigrants, who are at least sixteen years old and who have followed a regular course of studies in their country of origin, after having proved their proper preparation on the entire educational program regarding the class they wish to attend.
