In Italy, following the order of the Court of Milan, which declared discriminatory the requirement of citizenship for the participation in civil service projects, it was decided to suspend the departure for thousands of young volunteers. A provision that has sparked many protests from the associations. But how? The ones, who are fighting for years in the name of integration and promote international cooperation programs for the poor and disadvantaged? When they have the opportunity to have young people who are well integrated in the national territory and who know better than others the difficulties of their countries of origin, they decide to oppose? In particular, the Focsiv – Volunteers in the World, which in a recent open letter, asks for the withdrawal of the appeal presented by the young Pakistani guy who raised this dust. Simply because he had been denied the opportunity to participate in a civil service project, because he was a foreigner, despite living in Italy for 15 years.
