Frauen machen Laender
If you want something done, do it yourself

It took an army of undertaking women to solve the many social and economic problems that East Germany has inherited from the communist regime. Apparently, in fact, a growing group of young highly skilled workers has succeeded where the various federal governments during twenty years since the fall of the Wall have always failed. A recent study by the Federal Representation for the New Laender reports about the spontaneous phenomenon of female entrepreneurship that is giving new life not only to the economy but also to the demography of the former GDR. The result? More jobs and more babies. From whose who opened a school to those who have founded a company, these ambitious pioneers, while their husbands are watching, are literally taking over the reins of the most backward part of the country. Helping to overcome the image of a territory in perpetual state of neglect and decay.
