In France so-called “quack doctors” are multiplying. Professionals who offer their seriously ill patients alternative treatment options that are quite bizarre. The most popular among them is the “biological decoding”, used by several gurus on cancer patients. It is basically a method that, instead of relying on a pharmaceutical therapy, tries to induce the person to a sort of ‘”self-healing” process through psychotherapy. In short, a real scam that, according to the Interministerial Committee for the surveillance and the fight against sectarian drifts, is causing harm especially to the most vulnerable.
Yet in France, since more than ten years, the About-Picard law has been set in force just to control these phenomenons. Apparently something went wrong. To the point that following the constant complaints on behalf of the National Doctor Association, the Ministry of Justice has issued a newsletter that notifies of the penal consequences deriving from this new form of violation of the Sanitary Code.
