After winning the media spotlight in Italy as an extreme sexual practice, it turns out that the “game of fake choking” is becoming more and more popular in Germany, especially among teenagers. Where it is though considered a recreational activity rather than erotic. However, the goal is always the same: to feel extreme sensations by reducing the blood flow to the brain to the point of losing consciousness or even die. A phenomenon that spreads like wildfire thanks to the decisive role of internet. On social networks, in fact, homemade videos on the so-called “choking game” where you can see a group of friends intent on strangling each other for fun are booming. What’s more, experts warn, is that these movies are pushing a growing number of young to a dangerous emulation, unaware of the risks they face. This is shown by a recent study by the Institute for Media and Education of Berlin-Brandenburg.
