Fortress against pedophiles

Eventually good news about the fight against pedophilia. On a sample of 11.400 anonymous Germans it resulted that in the last twenty years sexual abuses on underages, that go from exhibitionism to out-and out rape, have decreased from 8,6% to 6,4% for women, and from 2,8% to 1,3% for men. According to the researchers of the Criminology Institute of Lower Saxony that conducted the study, decreasing data about sexual abuses within the family is particularly heartening. Furthermore, while in the 80’s only one offender out of 12 was denounced, today as much as one third of them get caught. As a matter of fact, it is assumed that thanks to the larger disclosure of information about this topic among schools, sport associations and parish recreation centers, current potential pedophiles are more on guard. Moreover, kids are better aware of dangers and more inclined to denounce the prospective muggers. According to the German Minister of Education Schavan reopening the public debate on this issue may encourage further on past and present victims to come out of the closet.
