Family policies speak the language of France

Why don’t European governments like talking about family policies? And above all , what does the French exception consist of? Questions  find answers in a recent study published in the scientific journal ‘Sociologies’ by French sociologist Gilles Séraphin. The work is the result of more than seven years of analysis and research on this topic, outlines the evolution of French family policies since the post-war period until today. However,  we should mention the reasons for this silence on behalf of many states of the continent, on a subject likely to become increasingly central in the future. And that’s the leitmotif of the entire research: the importance of family policies and the need for greater harmonization of them at European level.
