According to Eurostat, the total EU population is projected to rise by 5 % before 2030. However there are big differences between countries and regions of the Old Continent: while there will be large increases in Ireland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark, Cyprus and Malta, citizens will diminish in Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Baltic States.
