In Italy, in the coming years, the number of pediatricians could shrink dramatically. It is estimated, in fact, that the current 15,000 doctors could become 8,000 in 2025. This is due to the fact that the restricted access to the graduate schools does not ensure the turnover of those who will retire. This is what emerges from the “White Paper 2011. The health of children”.
