Empty cradles in Germany

Germany is the poorest European country. At least for what concerns the number of children. According to the population census included in a German study “Wie leben Kinder in Deutschland” (how do live children in Germany) between Alps and the Baltic Sea there are only 13.1 millions of under 18. Well below the 2.1millions compared to 2000. Not mentioning the fact that one child out of 4 is only-son, one out of six is at risk of poverty and up to 76% live with both his parents. Moreover, the study throw lights on what seemed to be an Italian typical habit but which is spreading over in the German Lander: it is said in the study that a third of the German 25 years olds still live at the “Hotel Mammy”, whereas 4 out of 5 of their female coetaneous have already left the family. Relevant differences linger on between East and West: indeed while in the East regions the birth-rate plummeted of about 29% in ten years, in the west the decrease stopped at 10%.
