In Italy, families spend, on average, up to € 1,400 per month for the charge of a residential care facility for the elderly. This was revealed by a Spi-Cgil survey, which also shows that the waiting time for the access to this type of structures is still too long: from 90 to 180 days. The worst situation concerns the Lazio Region, where we arrive even till 11 months.
