Tourists from all over the world who flock to Amsterdam for years in search of strong sensations with hashish, marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms should explore new shores. The Netherlands is no longer the paradise of anti-prohibition. After the closing of coffee shops, the Dutch government, in fact, decided to ban khat, the African origin plant whose leaves have psychoactive properties. The decision was taken following the publication of a detailed scientific study according to which the drug has effects comparable to those of amphetamines.
