The sexuality of people with disabilities continues to be a taboo, even in France. The problem has reached such an extent as to require to take action, as it has been proposed the parliamentary report that will be presented shortly. The question is both simple and complicated. Like Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland and Sweden, even France have to understand whether or not the time has come to establish the figure of the sexual assistant. Who, from that seen in countries that have already experienced, that should give a professional help to measure physical and mental disabled people with sex, but without going so far to complete intercourse. In Switzerland, for example, an hour of massage, touch, sensual experience and erotic games cost around 100 euros. In France, however, the issue has sparked fierce querelles. Especially by those who believe that such actions are not therapeutic but encroach into prostitution. Or for reasons put forward by disabled women who are doubly excluded since the assistants seem mostly reserved for men. Positions against which proponents argue, perhaps rightly, that sex exsists and it is impossible to deny it. Pointing to accompany it with tenderness, respect and listening to try to fill a void that many pretend not to see.
