Decree-07-07-11
An announced turn of the screw

Hard line, at least in theory, against French entrepreneurships that don’t invest on man-woman equality. The French government has passed a decree that provides harsher sanctions for those who infringe the law of 9 November 2010 that aimed to reach professional and wage equality between the two sexes. Among other news it is worth underlining the one that oblige all national companies to adopt, within the next six months, the necessary measures that would reduce the wage gap between men and women. Failing this would lead to a pecuniary fine that can reach the amount of 35 thousands euro. According to the Equal Opportunity French Observatory the new decree risks to be the umpteenth stalking horse, considering the fact that entrepreneurs prefer paying the fine more than changing the wage gap.
