In Italy, to stick a pornographic picture of the former partner on the front door is not a crime. This is what one can read in a curious decision of the Supreme Court that overturned a previous judgment of the Court of Appeal of Genoa with which the accused had been convicted of private violence and defamation. Specifically, the man, on the rebound after being left and in the hope that the extreme gesture could convince his beloved to return with him, stuck an image depicting the woman during a sexual act in front of her sister’s house. A conduct which was deemed lawful by the Supreme Judges, as there was no evidence that the photograph had been seen by other people than the injured party.
